ROWAN COUNTY AIRPORT IS A COUNTY OWNED FACILITY


Rowan County is home to the Rowan County Airport (RUQ) in Salisbury, NC. It is a public airport located three miles southwest of Salisbury, in the heart of the highest growth corridor of the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Rowan County Airport's proximity to I-85 offers convenient access to the exploding Charlotte metropolitan area and the Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point markets. Fifty minutes away is the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the eighth busiest in the nation with over 600 flight operations per day. Sixty minutes away is the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC which is located at the center of North Carolina and the midpoint of the East Coast. The airport offers easy access to Charlotte Motor Speedway, the new Z-Max Dragway, Concord Mills, the NC Research Campus, premier golf courses, local business parks and resturants.

Rowan County Airport is owned and operated by Rowan County and is within the city limits of Salisbury.

A general aviation terminal is located in the southeast quadrant of the Airport. National Guard facilities are located in the northeast quadrant of the airport.
