Chapter 1083 is one of 1,000 registered chapters of the Experimental Aircraft Association worldwide. The EAA is
a nonprofit group of people with an interest in aviation. It is not necessary to be a pilot or aircraft owner
to enjoy the group - just being an aviation enthusiast makes you eligible to join. The group does have
many members who personally own aircraft ranging from sleek cross-country general aviation machines to
vintage aircraft, ultralights and homebuilt kit aircraft. Business meetings are held the second Tuesday
of each month at the Rowan County Airport, and the group schedules events and activities throughout the year.
